CEO of Police Care UK, Gill Scott-Moore and PSA President, Paul Fotheringham

Every year, the President of the PSA selects a police charity to support on behalf of the association, with funds being raised as part of the PSA’s annual conference.

Paul is a trustee for Police Care UK, which supports serving and veteran police officers and staff, volunteers, and their families who have suffered any physical or psychological harm as a result of policing.

A key priority for Paul during his three-year term as president, which began in March, will be the wellbeing and welfare of association members and the wider policing workforce.

At the PSA conference taking place from the 12th to the 14th September in Stratford-Upon-Avon, funds will be collected for the charity, with delegates and guests donating as part of the President’s Awards evening.

Charities supported by the association president in recent years include the Police Roll of Honour Trust and the Police Arboretum Memorial Trust.

Paul Fotheringham commented: “I’m really pleased to announce my support of Police Care UK on behalf of our association. The charity does incredible work to help members of the police family who have suffered through service and it’s so important that this continues.

“We have a duty to care for the people who dedicate their careers to supporting others. This is something that will be very important to me as we continue to use the experience and influence of our members to help shape our service. Our workforce is privileged to have the support of Police Care UK and I look forward to raising vital funds for the charity at this year’s conference.”

Gill Scott-Moore, CEO of Police Care UK said: “We are incredibly grateful that the Police Superintendents’ Association have chosen to support Police Care UK this year. It is only the generosity of donors and fundraisers that enables our vital work to help the people of policing who suffer physical and psychological injury.”
